The Center of Maritime Technologies e.V. is a none-profit organization with more than 80 members, representing the maritime industry, research institutes and academia. CMT provides the following services
- Co-ordination of co-operative industry research projects in the maritime fields (more than 300 projects to date)
- Development of research strategies and concepts
- Initiation of maritime research projects, application for funding and project management
- Contributions to the formation of an European Research Area and representation of German partners in European bodies
- Technology transfer with special focus on small and medium enterprises
- Own contractual research in the fields of ship production technologies, laser material processing, new materials and lightweight structures, production planning and simulation, process qualification etc.
CMT is collaborating with a network of competent partners and is currently partner in more than 10 German and European research projects.
