Bilge Separator Turbulo Mechanical Phase Breaker (TMPB) in Accordance with MEPC.107(49)
The latest product of our separator range, the TURBULO Mechanical Phase Breaker (TMPB), perfectly fulfills the requirements of the IMO-Resolution MEPC.107(49).
The know-how for designing this two-stage pressure system is based on 80 years of experience in developing and manufacturing bilge separators. For analytical study of bilge water, our in-house laboratory is equipped to analyze and determine, among ohter things, the oil content according to ISO 9377-2, the hydrocarbon index-particle-size and the interfacial tension.
Description of the MPB System
In the first stage of the TMPB, larger and smaller oil particles are separated by means of High Efficiency Coalescers (HEC). The non-consumable and non-wear HEC are integrated into the separator housing which has been designed for easy access.
In the second stage, finest oil particles are separated by passing the mixture through the HycaSep element. HycaSep stands for Hydrocarbon Separator which is designed for waters with reduced interfacial tension.
The TMPB is equipped with the latest 15ppm bilge alarm as well as an integrated pump and switch panel which are specifically designed for shipboard operating conditions.
